Q. What will I receive as part of the Melt franchise system?
A. Guidance and recommendations for the build out of your store. Prior to your grand opening, you will complete a detailed training program at an existing Melt store and in your store prior to opening. You will also receive, among other things, a detailed operating manual and the rights to use our trademarks.

Q. Do I need prior industry experience?
A. No, you don’t necessarily need food service experience. We look for franchisees that have strong business management skills, a positive attitude and work ethic, and a dedication to providing great customer service.

Q. What is the initial franchise fee?
A. The initial franchise fee is $25,000. This fee funds our pre-opening support of your operation, including approving your site and your initial training.

Q. How much is the initial investment?
A. The estimated initial investment required ranges from $260,000 to $650,000. As with any new business venture, it’s important that you have adequate working capital.

Q. What is the term of the franchise agreement?
A. The initial term of your Melt franchise agreement is 10 years, with 2 optional subsequent 5-year renewal terms.

Q. Are there ongoing fees paid to Melt?
A. Yes, franchisees in the Melt system pay a weekly royalty equal to 6% of gross sales. The royalty helps to fund our ongoing support services and the continued development of new products and systems upgrades.

Q. Are there any advertising fees?
A. Yes, our franchise locations contribute 1% toward a marketing fund, which is used to develop marketing strategies to promote the Melt brand and fund the creative costs to develop local franchise marketing materials. We also require franchisees to spend 1% of gross sales on local marketing efforts.

Q. Is financing available?
A. No, direct financing is not part of the Melt franchise program. However Melt may introduce you to a third party financier who willl provide up to 70% of the capital required provided you meet certain qualifications.

Q. What training will I receive?
A. Melt will provide up to two weeks of detailed training prior to the time of your opening. There is no additional charge for this training service, but you must pay any travel and living expenses while attending the training. Our staff will also provide start-up training at your location prior to opening.

Q. What about ongoing support?
A. We will continue to provide ongoing support services to you by phone, email, and on-site visits to your location. We regularly update our franchisees with new procedures and other information designed to improve operations for all franchisees. We’re also available to conduct ongoing training programs.
