gelato and sorbetto has been loved for hundreds of years, but has yet to be
fully exposed to consumers in the U.S. and other countries.
We serve traditional gelato, and many other delicious products including coffee,
smoothies, Italian sodas, and pastries. Truly a treat for every taste!
The Melt Café and Gelato Bar represents an efficient business model, supported
by marketing and merchandising tools and established operational procedures that
make running the locations relatively simple. Melt Café and Gelato Bar has grown
to multiple locations in no time at all …and the future ahead of us is wide
open.
Melt Café and Gelato Bar leverages the universal appeal and enormous volume of
ice cream sales and consumption in the United States and the world, but we offer
something different.
Not only do we offer great products, but we strive on offering our customers
with a unique purchase experience, one that they will always remember. Our
enthusiastic consumers enjoy gelato’s intense flavors, dense and creamy texture,
natural ingredients, and significantly lower fat content than premium ice cream,
all in a unique atmosphere and environment. Based on Italian recipes that are
centuries old, our selection of gelato and sorbetto is decoratively displayed in
glass cases and helps draw in customers again and again. We also offer coffee,
smoothies, Italian sodas, and pastries -- providing not just a treat for
everyone, but also an opportunity for multiple revenue streams for store owners. |

We are currently seeking qualified candidates to become store
owners in California, Arizona, Nevada, Washington, Florida and Hawaii. Even if
you have no previous experience in running your own business the Melt team will
help you from start to finish.
We have built this business on the KISS concept, every part of the business has
been stream lined to keep the operating procedures simple, yet detailed enough
to provide you with excellent management information systems. It is not
necessary for you to have prior food services experience, nor it is necessary
for you to have owned you own business, the Melt team will help you from start
to finish.

FINANCING REQUIREMENTS |
|
|
The Melt concept is extremely flexible, you can have a 150 sq ft kiosk up to a
2000 sq ft galeteria. The total cost to start the business will be dependent on
the type and size of the store you want to own, the range is between $260,000 to
$650,000.
Melt does not directly offer financing, however financing arrangements have been
made whereby the lender will finance up to 70% of the total costs subject to
certain qualifications.

What will I receive as part of the Melt franchise system? |
Initially, you’ll receive full lease negotiation and site selection
assistance, plus help with the build-out of your store. Prior to your grand
opening, you will complete a detailed two week training program at our
headquarters, and you’ll have pre-opening help at your location. You’ll also
receive, among other things, a detailed operating manual and the rights
to use our trademarks.

Do I need prior industry experience? |
No, you don’t necessarily need foodservice experience. We look for
franchisees that have strong business management skills, a positive attitude
and work ethic, and a dedication to providing great customer service.
|
|
What is the initial franchise fee? |
The initial franchise fee is $25,000. This fee funds our pre-opening
support of your operation, including approving your site and your initial
headquarters-based and on-site training.
|
|
How much is the initial investment? |
The estimated initial investment required ranges from $200,000 to $400,000.
As with any new business venture, it’s important that you have adequate
working capital
|
|
What is the term of the franchise agreement? |
|
The initial term of your Melt franchise agreement is 7 years, with 2
optional subsequent 7-year renewal terms.
|

Are there ongoing fees paid to Melt? |
|
Yes, franchisees in the Melt system pay a weekly royalty equal to 6% of
gross sales. The royalty helps to fund our ongoing support services and the
continued development of new products and systems upgrades.

Are there any advertising fees? |
|
Yes, our franchise locations contribute 1% toward a marketing fund,
which is used to develop marketing strategies to promote the Melt brand and
fund the creative costs to develop local franchise marketing materials. We
also require franchisees to spend 1% of gross sales on local marketing
efforts.

Is financing available? |
|
No, direct financing is not part of the Melt franchise
program. However Melt will introduce you to a third party financier who
willl provide up to 70% of the capital required provide you meet certain
qualifications.

What training will I receive? |
Melt will provide up to two weeks of detailed training prior to the time
of your opening. There is no additional charge for this training service,
but you must pay any travel and living expenses while attending the
training. Our staff will also provide start-up training at your location
prior to opening.

What about ongoing support? |
|
We will continue to provide ongoing support services to you
by phone, email, and on-site visits to your location. We regularly update
our operations manual with new procedures and other information designed to
improve operations for all franchisees. We’re also available to conduct
ongoing training programs.
